Dear Nominator:

 

It is our pleasure to invite you to nominate an individual for the Gala & Awards. 

 

We depend on our community to identify individuals with outstanding qualifications.

 

The deadline this year's nomination is March 31, 2018

 

A distinguished panel of judges will then make the selections, which will be announced on April 6, 2018.

 

We will honor the Recipients in a ceremony on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

 

Gala and Award will be held in Wyndham Hotel, 1284 Strongtown Rd, Southbury, Connecticut.

Criteria for Nominations

 

Bridge Builder Award

 

Honors civic leaders/ individuals who have formed beneficial partnerships across racial, social, economic and geographic barriers for advancement of their communities. Through unique partnerships, these effective individuals and organizations have pioneered programs and projects that exemplify the power that occur when people put aside differences and join together for the common good of our community.

 

Leadership Award

 

Recognizes an outstanding leader who has enhanced our community significantly with their exceptional leadership and through their involvement and impact in the community.  S/he has shown the courage and vision to actively advocate for positive changes. The award honors their extraordinary contribution to the community and to Latino families in Waterbury, Connecticut.

 

Great Educator Award

 

Recognizes exceptional educators and leaders who are supporting the career success for the next generation.  They support student learning through outstanding teaching efforts and commitment to educational development. The teacher is best known for making a significant impact on Latino students and their families.

 

Entrepreneur Award

 

Recognizes businesses in our community that exemplify qualities of effective leadership, innovation, potential for great growth, and high levels of community and cultural awareness.  This business serves as a role model in our community and a leader in their industry.

 

Social Impact Award

 

Recognizes local leaders in our community who demonstrate commitment and dedication to addressing issues related to societal welfare. This award specially recognizes individuals who exemplify compassion by raising awareness on key societal issues. The recipient inspires their associates, clients, and the community.

 

Partner of the Year

 

Recognizes an individual or organization that has gone above and beyond in their community to help bring Madre Latina’s value, vision, and mission to life; and there has a been mutual growth as result of the collaboration with Madre Latina collaboration. The recipient of this award is proactive, responsive, and willing to share appropriate information and resources.

 

Young Women of Tomorrow

 

Recognizes and honors a young Latina from our community who has demonstrated a commitment to leadership, community services, and academic excellence. The recipient is developing or has completed a community project that benefits families or youths in the community, and successfully involved other partners. She has finished college or is in the process of finishing her degree.  She is an inspiration to others; generates enthusiasm and leads by example by her actions.
